Logistics is essential for smooth movement of goods and economic efficiency across industries. Despite advancements, transporting goods in Nigeria remains challenging. Seeing this need, my team and I decided to create a solution.
Haulk Logistics offers a reliable and efficient platform that connects cargo owners to truckers, facilitating the convenient movement of large consignments, particularly to and from seaports.

Research and analysis
Our research aimed to understand the challenges people face when moving bulk goods, both locally and internationally. We explored current transportation methods and gathered suggestions for improvement. To do this, we analyzed data, studied competitors, and conducted user interviews and surveys.
We identified these pain points:
- Customs clearing issues.
- Challenges moving goods to the port.
- Lack of reliable handlers.
- Difficulty tracking goods.
- Poor communication and transparency from delivery companies.
Our research also showed that while some companies offer hauling services and real-time tracking, they suffer from complex booking processes, slow response times, high costs, and slow deliveries.
Building on strong foundations
Based on this research, we developed user personas, crafted journey maps for different user types, and created wireframes to map out the platform's functionality and structure. From there, we created a high-fidelity prototype and conducted usability testing to refine the design and improve the user experience.
The solution
After eight weeks of product discovery, ideation, development, and sprints, we came up with an MVP. Our final design streamlined the onboarding process by asking only essential questions, making it easier for new users compared to competitors. Personalized dashboards for cargo owners and truck drivers simplified booking, payment, and order tracking, with future updates planned to enhance tracking capabilities and ensure safety through thorough driver verification.
